Why is every single trampoline out there the same? It seems like each trampoline you come across has the same blue safety pad over the same set of springs connected to the same circular jumping mat.
I grew tired of this repetitive model of the trampoline and wanted something unique and fun.
If you also want a first trampoline you've come to the right place.
Just make sure when you are buying a trampoline you verify that it is safe, sturdy, and most importantly, fun.
Skywalker is one of the biggest innovators in trampoline technology. They are the guys that brought you the trampoline with the basketball hoop and are committed to safe family fun products.
Consider the Skywalker rectangle trampoline to separate yourself from the herd.
The rectangular Skywalker trampoline sure is different. For starters, it's rectangular. This just makes things more fun, and I'm not sure why so many trampolines are circular.
One of the biggest problems with trampolines is the gap between the springs and the jumping mat. That's where little fingers and toes often get caught. Fortunately, the Skywalker brand has found a solution for this.
The No-Gap enclosure system is a patented device that eliminates this gap. This makes the Skywalker even safer than imagined. This also makes installation easier, as you don't have to thread a rope through the jumping pad since the springs attach directly to the mat.
The frame is made of galvanized steel, but Skywalker did not stop there. They included T-sockets at each and every leg. This gives the frame even greater stability and support. This also makes assembly easier and more importantly, they are rust resistant.
The spring pad is a thick PVC material. It is UV resistant, so you can be sure that it will last longer in the sun. The springs are extra long and rust resistant. The springs are on the outside of the enclosure so that no one will be accidentally jumping on them.
The padded ring system is very intuitive. They made the poles padded, which I don't understand why every trampoline company does not do. Jumping into the poles is the most common injury I have seen. They also angled the poles, so they are farther away from the enclosing.
There are eight upright poles instead of 6, which is what you would find in most trampolines. Also, the net is secured very tightly to the top of the poles with pole caps.
The dual closure system is also very smart. One of the most common trampoline issues is that the net was difficult to zip closed. They made it easy to zip on the Skywalker. The zip then tightens the entire enclosure which features no gaps. This makes it an overall very safe experience.
The rectangle design does give for an even bounce. Instead of concentrating the entire bounce in the center of a circle, the rectangle shape allows for even bounce throughout the whole contraption.
ASTM (The American Society for Testing and Materials) has verified that Skywalker products are safe. This verification is not required by law, but it 's nice to know that an American company has deemed this trampoline to be worthy of a strong bounce.
This particular trampoline is certified to handle up to 200 pounds at a time. The rectangle is eight by 14, so there's enough room for two smaller children to jump at the same time.
For starters, the Skywalker company is great. Their customer service is very helpful, and when I called with some questions, they were more than willing to help.
Assembly was very simplistic, and most everything you need is included. Installation should not take you more than an hour. The quality of materials is good, but the springs are very tight. You may need some help to pull the net hard across the springs. If you find it is far too difficult, let the mat sit out in the sun for a little bit which will stretch it out.
It is heavy duty and meets your expectations. If your trampoline does not feel heavy-duty, you need to return it immediately.
I would recommend that you check the parts list before you begin construction. A few people have been missing a spring or two when they opened the box. Usually, I would complain about this more, but customer service was so helpful it's not even a problem. If you are missing something, or even if a part breaks all too quickly, customer service will overnight you replacement parts.
The netting is the best part. It keeps the whole thing secure, and you can be sure that it will stop your kids from falling out. There are an ew people that complained about rips in the netting, but most people have not found this to be true.
The only reason this trampoline does not have five stars is that it occasionally does not include every part, so make sure to thoroughly check the parts list and contact customer service right away.
